~Chapter Two~
"Heh! Stay where you are!" The monster shouts. The little girl turned and saw the monster. She was terrified.
"AHH!" She screams. She was shaken in fear. She couldn’t run, but closed her eyes tightly with tears in her eyes.
"We have to help her!" Dean looked over at Vikki. He nods in agreement, and they both dash over to the little girl. Victor grabs the little one just in time, and the monster misses trying to claw her. Dean used his sword to stab the beast, making it bleed a little, but it didn’t stop the monster. Dean had the sword stuck into the beast.
Victor sat the little girl down by Dean and holds his sword up into the air. He dashes with his sword. As soon as he was close enough, he swung his sword towards the monster, stabbing it, making it bleed a little on another part of his body, but still didn’t kill the creature.
"YOU THINK THAT WILL KILL ME?!" The monster laughs. “THAT WON’T KILL ME! HAHA!” Dean felt like he got frustrated with the solution and pulled his sword out.
“AHHHH!” Dean shouts as he runs towards the creature. He stabs the monster again, but this time with much more strength. In that second, the monster turned into dust and Dean's and Vikki's swords had disappeared.
Victor seemed a little jealous when Dean defeated the monster. The little girl was crying. Dean went over to her and picked her up. "It's okay. The monster didn't hurt you. Now, why are you over here?" Dean asked her.
"Dolly." She responds. The little girl's mother came running over.
"Chelsea! There you are! Thank goodness I found you! I thought I saw something about to hurt her. Did I see clearly?" The mother asked Dean and Vikki. They weren't sure if what they saw was true or not.
"I don't think so." Vikki responded. The woman took her child from Dean.
"Mommy, dolly." The little girl points to a doll that is sitting under a tree nearby. Dean ran over and picked up the doll, and came back over. He hands the doll to the little girl. She takes it.
“Mommy, look dolly.”
"Thank you. Let's get going, Chelsea. We don't want to keep your father waiting." The woman and child had walked away.
Dean looked around and couldn't find that winged man anywhere. Even Victor was looking around. Just some strange reason, he seems to have disappeared without a trace. As if it never happened.
"How weird...do you think we dreamed that?" Dean asked his friend.
"If we did, we both dreamed the same dream." Vikki responds. "We should head back with the class. “They both made it back into the museum with the other class.
When they made it back, Dean and Vikki heard a boy talking to Mrs. Layden about food. “But you promised us McDonald’s!” The boy whined.
“I did not!” Mrs. Layden snapped at him.
“But I want it!” The boy still wined.
“She really is a bitch…” Vikki mumbles.
After school, Dean was at home. He had finished the dishes as promised, and he had done his homework. He was in his bedroom, sitting on his bed. "I wonder what happened today? That was so odd. I didn't tell Katrina about it, though." Dean thought to himself. The day was weird, he had taken a sword from some wingman and used it to fight a monster. When he thought monsters weren’t real. Just then, the winged man came into the bedroom. Shine! When he appeared, he was bright. It startled Dean. "Eh?!" Dean backed a little away.
"Don't be alarmed. It's me." He smiled.
"So, I wasn't dreaming? Who are you?" Dean asked.
"I am a helper. I am half bird, as you can say. My name is 'Moa'. I am here to help guide you and others to help defeat the monsters and stop the Sea God from coming." He explains.
"Moa? Sea God? Monsters? You mean like that monster I saw today and almost attacked that little girl?" Dean asked.
"Yes. Your friend Vikki should hear this, too. You should get him."
"O-Okay." Dean ran out of the bedroom. He took his shoes with him. As soon as he headed to the front door, he put them on and went to get his friend from his house, who lived next door.
"Why are you banging on my door?" Vikki asked rudely of Dean. “I was seriously in my bedroom about to play with rosey palm and here you are banging on my door and ruining the mood.”
"I want you to come over to talk about what happened today." Dean tells him.
"There's nothing to discuss. We fell asleep." Vikki was about to shut the door.
"C'mon. Just come over." Dean said. Vikki sighs and decides to go next door to Dean's home. They make their way to Dean's bedroom. Vikki was surprised to see the winged man in Dean's bedroom.
"So, we didn't dream that?" Vikki asked.
"I guess not." Dean responds.
"You two are chosen to defeat monsters and stop the Sea God from coming to Earth. He's trying hard to sacrifice lots of people in order to come to Earth. This all actually happened in the past."
"What are you trying to say?" Vikki asked and sat down on Dean's bed by Dean.
"This happened many centuries ago. Back in medieval times. The Sea God was a danger to humankind and was going to destroy everything and take over the Earth. I chose many warriors to defeat the Sea God to save humankind. It got extremely bad that everyone had to be reborn again to defeat this task in the present time now."
"Who are you and what do you mean?" Vikki asks. "His name is 'Moa'." Dean tells Vikki.
"Moa?" Vikki never heard of the name before."
"Please fight these monsters. I will help you both to get to the location where I sense the monsters." Moa tells them.
"I guess it couldn't hurt. You want to do it? It be like we’re superheroes! " Dean asked Vikki.
"Man. I don't really want to. I got dates to date, and chicks to bang." Vikki said and stood up.
"Don't be stubborn. Help." Moa says to Vikki. Staring directly at Vikki in the eyes. It made him feel weird. He sighs.
"Fine. I guess I will. But don't count too much on my help." Vikki gave in without giving it another second thought.
"Good. I don't feel any monsters out now. Once I do, I’ll tell you both at once." Moa disappeared.
"Do you even think we should be doing this?" Vikki asks.
"I think it's a good cause. We shouldn't tell anyone about this, though. It might cause chaos, and we don’t want that.” Dean replies. They both go downstairs and into the living room.
They both heard something on the TV. Katrina happened to be watching the News.
"Today, out of nowhere, swords and bows have all disappeared from the museum. No one was seen on the cameras. It's as if they magically vanished. The police have been looking for the thieves since July." The woman on the news said. Dean felt awkward hearing that. Vikki did as well.
"Hey, weren't you two at that museum today?" Katrina asked and looked at both of them. They were nervous.
"Y-Yes. But I didn't see anything..." Dean answered nervously.
"Yeah. I didn't see what happened to their swords and stuff." Vikki replied. Katrina glares at Vikki.
"Ew. Why is he in our house? Dean, when did you invite this roach into our home? Get the bug spray and get him out of here. He's stinking the place up." Katrina says rudely.
"Hey, the only thing that smells like a roach in here is your stinky perfume. You fucking stank."
"WHAT?! I am not that!" Katrina got up and was now getting angry at Vikki.
"Now, you two stop fighting. Okay?" Dean didn't like it when his friend and sister would get into an argument. They seemed to fight all the time.
"Get this stupid ape out of here! He insults pretty girls."
"Pretty girl? You think you're pretty?" Vikki laughed. "No guy wants to date an ugly girl who wears panties with flowers on them."
"WHAT?! How do you know what kind of underwear I am wearing right now?! And guys won't dislike me because of my underwear!" Katrina left the living room blushing, and some tears were coming from her eyes.
"Stupid girl." Vikki sits down on the sofa and changes the channel on the TV.
"Why do you two always fight?" Dean asked and sat down on the sofa by his friend.
"Because I don't like her." Vikki responds. Dean didn't say anything as they both watched TV together. Katrina was in her bedroom talking on her phone that which she recently got from her dad.
"Stupid Vikki was making fun of me again. I don't like him." Katrina said, feeling mad.
"What did he say this time?" Katrina's friend asked on the phone. It was her friend Alivia.
"He somehow knew what kind of underwear I was wearing and made fun of it. Saying no guy would date me because of it. He's totally wrong and stupid." Katrina explains to Alivia.
"Vikki is your little brother's friend, right?" Alivia asked.
"Sure is. I don't know why he hangs with a jerk like that."
"My little brother is a toddler, but he's a handful sometimes. He pulls up maids' dresses and says Daddy does it." Alivia laughed a little. "It's true. Daddy does pull up maids' dresses at our home."
"Your dad sounds disgusting. Isn't he married? Why on earth would your dad teach your brother to do nasty things?" Katrina asked.
"Yes, to my mom. But they both date other people. I don't know why they never divorced. Not sure why my dad would teach him that, to be honest." Alivia says, then laughs.
"Okay… um, so, are there any guys that have been looking at me, or no? I really want a boyfriend to show that dumb Vikki that I can get a date."
"There is this one guy. You know Jill’s older brother." Alivia goes on telling her. Vikki got up from the living room couch and picked up the phone that was near the front entrance of the room, and was listening to Katrina's phone call with her friend.
"Really?! He likes me?!" Katrina asked, blushing.
"Yeah. He told me he has the hots for you and wants to ask you out tomorrow after school. Sorry, I forgot to tell you about it. It’s a good thing you reminded me." Alivia tells Katrina.
"He is kind of cute! I saw him smile at me a few times when I went over Jill’s house. I can't wait!" Katrina felt happy.
"Thinking she's got a date. Think again." Vikki thought to himself and hung the phone up.
It was the next day. Dean got up and was getting ready for school. He picked up an outfit he had already picked out the night before and got dressed. After he gets dressed, he combs his hair. He went downstairs and made his way into the bathroom, and brushed his teeth.
After he got out of the bathroom, he went ahead and started making breakfast as soon as he entered the kitchen. There was a note left on the fridge from his dad saying he had left for work already.
"Dad sure works a lot." Dean thought to himself and put on a cooking apron and continued to make breakfast. Katrina came down the steps and went past the hall to the kitchen.
"Is Dad at work again?" She asked.
"Yeah. I'm making bacon and eggs. When your done you can get a drink." Katrina did as Dean said.
