~Chapter Eight~
"Mom, is that really you?" Vikki felt like he just wanted to run over to her and hug her. He missed her. He really missed her.
"It is me." The woman responds.
"Mommy!" Vikki ran over to her and hugged her. "I thought you died?! I don't understand."
"I have come back to speak to you. To tell you that I don't want you fighting those monsters."
"Why not?" Vikki asks.
"Because. I don't want to see you get hurt! I want you to not get involved in something like that. I want you to continue your life normally as you used to do. Stop with this monster business fighting."
"But I can't. Dean needs me, and the same with Moa. I need to fight. What if the Sea God comes and takes over the Earth?" Vikki asked.
"I don't want you to fight. You wouldn't go against your own mother's wishes, would you?" She asks. Vikki looks down and let's go of his mother.
"No. I wouldn't do that. I love you, mommy." Vikki said.
"Good, now stop fighting." The woman pats him on the head.
"I...I will..." Vikki responds, and the woman disappears. "Why doesn't my mom want me to fight? It's for a good cause..." Vikki left the basement and went upstairs. The woman appears again and transforms into a man in a dark hooded cloak. This man didn’t look like Randel, but he was indeed one of the Sea God followers.
"I hope that will get him to stop interfering with the Sea God." The man laughed devilishly and disappeared again.
For the past two days, Vikki seemed distant from Dean. Katrina and Dean were home from school, and Dean was working on his homework in the kitchen. Katrina came into the kitchen.
Where's your demon friend? He's usually here stealing our food and violating the furniture."
I don't know, he told me that he wasn't feeling too well and wants to stay home. But he did go to school, so I am unsure.
At gym class today, he got sent to the nurse's office because he said he felt dizzy." Dean responds to his sister.
"Why didn't you go check on him next door?"
"I am sure his parents can help him. Oh, maybe I am being a bad friend. I'll go check on him." Dean got up and left the kitchen. Dean went next door and knocked on the door.
There was no answer. "I hope he's alright. He didn't even ride the bus home today. I wonder if his parents picked him up at school when he got sent to the nurse's office?"
touched the doorknob. The door was unlocked. "I hope he doesn't think this is rude." Dean opened the door. The house had a foul smell to it. The place seems like a wreck. Dean saw garbage all over the place. Books were thrown to the floor, couch pillows, cushions all over. There was some food that was even outdated.
"I guess this is why Vikki never wants me to visit. His parents sure don't clean much." Dean thought. He wondered how Vikki could live in such a place as this. Dean saw the answering machine blinking. He clicked it and started hearing the voice messages. Some were old. Two Months ago. Some was evern older. "I guess his parents don't check this really." Dean mumbles. The latest message was from the school nurse with today's date.
Dean decided to look for Vikki's bedroom. He found it and found Vikki lying in bed.
"Vikki? Are you alright? Sorry to just barge right in." Dean said as he came into the bedroom.
"Dad! Stop it! Stop hurting mom!" Vikki says. He was sleeping. Having a nightmare. Dean was confused.
"Uh...What? Vikki?" Dean went over to him and noticed he was sleeping.
"Mom..." Vikki mumbles in his sleep.
"Vikki? Are you there? Hello?" Dean shook Vikki. Waking him up. Vikki stares at Dean.
"W-What are you doing in here?" Vikki asks and sits up.
"Looking for you. Worried about you." Dean answered. "Where's your mom? Did she get a job like your dad?" Vikki didn't want to answer. Moa appears.
"I sense some monsters nearby. It's time to fight them." Moa tells Dean and Vikki.
"Count me out." Vikki got up off his bed.
"What? You don't want to fight?" Dean asks Vikki.
"No. I don't. I don't want to fight. Do it yourself Moa. Since you're so concerned. Leave me the hell alone." Vikki left the bedroom.
"What has been getting into Vikki?" Dean wondered.
"You still want to fight the monsters and stop the Sea God, don't you?" Moa asked Dean. He nods. "Alright, I will take you to the monsters. Maybe I can get Leeann to help you." Moa disappeared with Dean.
Vikki just felt weak. He wasn't sure why he felt so tired and dizzy. For the past two nights, he had been dreaming of his parents. He wasn't sure why he kept dreaming of them, but he did. In both dreams, he was getting closer. Closer to remembering how they died, and it was making him feel even more depressed.
"Dad killed mom then himself! I know it! That 'show I remembered it!" Vikki says and falls against the wall. "Why don't I feel good?" Vikki thought and fell to the floor and passed out in the hallway.
Dean was battling some monsters that were in the woods, getting ready to go into the town. Moa had appeared to Leeann, who was making a beaded bracelet in her bedroom.
"Dean needs your help to fight some monsters."
"I don't have to help him. Get his ugly friend to help him. I am busy making a bracelet, not to mention I just painted my nails not too long ago." Moa rolled his eyes.
"Look, Miss Prissy, Dean needs your help. His friend isn't helping him this time."
"Who could blame him?" Leeann set her bracelet down and looked at her nails. She had painted them pink. "You think this will impress older guys? I am not into guys my age. So immature."
"And you're mature?"
Dean killed two monsters. "I don't see anymore. Am I done?" Dean wondered. A monster came out from behind and attacked him.
"AFRAID NOT!" The monster said and laughed. Knocking Dean to the ground.
"GET OFF OF ME!" Dean yelled. The monster bit his shoulder, and Dean screamed. The things into his skin pressing through. It hurt a lot. He had blood coming out. Dean managed to push the monster off of him and stood up. Holding his sword. "You hurt me!" Dean stabs the monster, and it turns to dust. Dean held his shoulder, and his sword disappeared. "Ow!" Dean says. Moa appeared by Dean and saw his shoulder bleeding.
"Are you alright?!" Moa asked Dean.
"Y-Yeah." Dean lies. He was in pain. "Take me home." Dean tells him. Moa appeared him home. Dean went to the bathroom and Moa appeared in the bathroom with him.
"Do you need any help?" Moa asks.
"I am fine!" Dean replies. "Just go." Moa disappeared, and Dean took his shirt off. He had tears coming out his eyes. He got the first aid kit and was trying to bandage himself up. Katrina was walking by and happened to see him.
"Dean? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a scratch." Dean tries to lie, but she sees tears in his eyes.
"Let me help you."
"No. I got it."
"Are you sure?" Katrina felt worried because Dean was bleeding quite a lot. Dean didn't feel like answering he just wanted to stop the bleeding, but he was in pain. "I'm going to get dad!" Katrina ran off.
Vikki was hearing screams. "WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HURT ME?!" A woman yelled. It was Vikki's mother.
"YOU KNOW RIGHT WELL WHY I DO IT!" Viki's
dad yelled. "WHY I STARTED DRINKING!" Vikki was in the hallway watching them through the door.
"Victor, I told you I didn't cheat on you! I love you so much! I never even left you, even though you kept hurting me!" Vikki's mother cried.
"Then where were you that one night? HUH?! WHERE WERE YOU?!"
"I keep telling you, I was over my friend's place and passed out. I was sick!" Vikki's mother responds.
"I don't believe it. Your friend lied to me, too! YOU BOTH LIED! TO COVER IT UP!"
"I am not lying! And you won't even let me talk to her anymore! If I cheated on you with my friend's husband, wouldn't she be fighting with her husband? Why would she cover it up to you? I don't get you." She starts to cry. "All I ever wanted was to be with you. Have lots of children with you." Vikki's dad just stares at her.
"W-What?" He asks.
"Victor, remember those nights last month when you kept wanting it and I just really didn't feel like it, but I gave in to you?"
"What about it?" Victor asks.
"I'm pregnant." She tells him, and he is surprised. A man appeared in the living room. A huge, tall guy. His hair was dark brown, looked like it was brushed back, and was just a little long past his shoulders. Vikki stared at him. He started to remember him. The man was laughing.
"I WANT TO KILL YOU BOTH! FOR THE SEA GOD WILL COME!" The man yelled.
"Get out of my house!" Vikki's dad yelled at the man. The man shoots Vikki's mother.
"M-Mommy!" Vikki yells and starts to cry. Vikki's dad couldn't believe it. He was about to see if his wife was okay, and the big man shot Vikki's dad. The man then shoots the floor.
"OOH! Dammit! I almost shot my toe off! These things are dangerous!" The big man said and disappeared. Vikki ran into the living room.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Vikki started crying. Vikki's eyes opened up. "Dad... I am sorry. You don't kill mom even though you were always mean." Vikki sat up on the floor. "How could I forget? Forget that crazy fat guy that killed my parents?" Vikki thought and stood up. "My parents... They died in the living room. But... I was so scared, I remember running next door and pretending nothing happened. But I was scared. And when I came home, my parents were gone... I found them in the basement three days later, and I never stepped foot in the basement again. Not until that day..." Vikki went to the living room. Looked at the floor. There was definitely a gunshot off in there.
