~Chapter Nineteen ~

It was still raining outside. Brandonlee and Bradrick were playing football outside with a girl name 'Veronica'. They just met her and already liked her. Leeann was sitting in the kitchen with her mother. "Why is that girl outside playing with my brothers?" Leeann asked.

"Girl?" The mom looked out the window. "I can't tell. That's a girl?" The mom sits back down.

"I wouldn't want to get all dirty. And I hate sports." Leeann said and took a sip of her drink. Brandonlee, Bradrick, and Veronica came inside the house.

"Please do not tract mud." The mom said.

"Let's go hop in the shower!" Veronica says.

"Right on!" Bradrick agreed. Bradrick and Brandonlee went to the bathroom with Veronica.

"Uh... mom? Are you going to stop them? That girl was talking about hopping in the shower with my dumb brothers."

"That was a girl?" The mom asked again. Brandonlee, Bradrick, and Veronica all took separate showers and were out now in the bedroom.

"Thanks for letting me borrow some clothes. Their kind of big on me though." Veronica laughed. She was wearing Brandonlee's shirt. She had on shorts underneath. Her clothes were mainly muddy. "Can I spend the night?"

"Sure." Bradrick responds and laid on his bed. Veronica sits on Brandonlee's bed with him.

"I want to watch wrestling tonight! Don't you?" Veronica asked with a smile. "I want to see Owen!"

   "Yeah!" Brandonlee replies.

"I'll ask my mom if you can spend the night." Bradrick got up and left the bedroom. Veronica blushes and looks at Brandonlee.

"He's handsome, but he wouldn't want to date a girl like me. I am not very girly. He probably likes girls like that. Ones that wear frilly skirts or dresses. Smells like flowers, and has prettier hair than me. Like I even have a choice what I to wear." Veronica looks away from Brandonlee and looks down.

"I love hamburgers. Favorite food." Brandonlee tells her. She laughed a little.

"I love them too! And fries!"

"I love that too!" Brandonlee said with a smile. Bradrick went into the kitchen.

"Hey mom, can my friend spend the night?"

"You mean that kid that was playing outside with you and your brother?" The mom asked.

"Yeah. That one." Bradrick responds and went to the fridge and was getting sodas out.

"I don't see why not." The mom responds.

"Okay, thanks!" Bradrick got the drinks and left the kitchen to go back to his bedroom.

"Mom, why are you letting him have a girl spend the night in his bedroom? Have you gone mad?!" Leeann asked.

   "I don't think that was a girl."

"It is! Her name is 'Veronica'!"

"How do you know?" The mom asked.

"Because I heard Bradrick and Brandonlee call her that. Why would a boy be named 'Veronica'?" Leeann asked.

"You sure you didn't hear clearly and her name is Rhonald?"

Bradrick came back to the bedroom and hands them two a drink and sits on his bed and opens his drink. "I crave hamburgers like a pregnant woman craves dick." Bradrick laughed and opened his soda.

"Pregnant women don't crave that. You nasty." Veronica sets her drink on the end table and lays down.

"Don't lay down, we need to get ready to watch wrestling soon," Bradrick said staring at Veronica.

"You try playing football on your period!" Veronica glares at him. Bradrick gets up and left the bedroom. Veronica glances over at Brandonlee. "I hate myself."

"Why do you?" Brandonlee asks her.

"Because. That dumb Lizzie keeps making fun of me!" Veronica felt like she was going to cry. "Said I probably like girls because the way I dressed."

"I don't think of you like that." Brandonlee said and starts playing with Veronica's hair. She had long hair. She had a hat on earlier, but now she didn't.

"Growing up, I never got to wore dresses and skirts even though my grandfather tried buying me stuff like that and my parents wouldn't let him. My parents always had me wearing shorts and pants. My cousin Dusty's clothes. And what do you know, I get made fun of." Veronica starts crying. "I hate myself! I am a girl!"

"You're good enough to me. I don't hate you. I don't think Bradrick does either." Brandonlee tells her and still was playing with her hair. She just stared at him as tears still came down her face. Downstairs, Bradrick went into the kitchen.

"Do you both like live in the kitchen?" Bradrick asked his mom and sister.

"No, you dummy. I was just having a cold drink. I need to go to my bedroom and style my hair." Leeann gets up and left the kitchen.

"Hey mom, does tomboys wear pads or tampons?" Bradrick asked his mother. She stared at him strangely.

"Uhh... What?" His mom was confused.

"My friend is freaking bleeding! It's going through my shorts I let her borrow!"

"Okay! Um... hold on." The mom gets up and left the kitchen. Bradrick follows his mom into her bedroom and then into her bathroom. She pulls out some pads and hands them to him. "There for your... uh friend? If she's having that, maybe you should get her to go home." Bradrick ran off. He went to his bedroom and threw the pads at Bianca. She sits up.

"I need a change of shorts. Really underwear too." Bianca said feeling discomfort. She gets up and took a pad and left the bedroom.

"Hey, I saw Bianca first so you better not be getting ideas." Bradrick glares at his brother.

"Saw her first? I did you liar." Brandonlee glares at him back.

"She belongs to me!"

"How can she? We just met her."

Bianca came into the bedroom and looked at them both. "Let's watch TV!"

Leeann was sitting in her bedroom. She was brushing her hair. "Things have gotten difficult with that Randel monster. I just wonder... Just how many more do we have to fight?" Leeann thought to herself. "That monster was powerful... Would we even be powerful enough to defeat the Sea God? If we weren't able to do so in the past, what makes Moa think we can do so in the present?"

Leeann puts her brush down. "I wonder if there will be more enemies soon?" Leeann got up from the chair in her bedroom and looked out her window. "I hope there are more of us fighters... more to fight the Sea God. What we have now is not enough."

In the early morning. Dean was upset eating breakfast in the kitchen next to Vikki. Paul had prepared breakfast for them and left. They all had been worried about Katrina who had gone missing.

"Do you think Katrina will be found?" Dean asks his friend.

"I don't know. "Vikki replies. He takes a bite of his food.

"I feel so worried about her." Dean did feel worried. He was hoping Katrina was alright. He didn't want something to happen to her and was hoping nothing did.

"You don't think a monster could've got to her, do you?" Vikki asks Dean.

"We can ask Moa." Dean suggested. Moa appeared in the kitchen. "Moa, was Katrina attacked by a monster?"

"I don't think so."

"You don't happen to know where she is, do you?" Vikki asked Moa.

"I...I don't." Moa responds.

"Katrina..." Dean felt depressed.
