~Chapter Twenty-One ~
In the middle of the night, Vikki was in Katrina's bedroom. Lying on her bed. Reading her diary. "She sure likes to write a lot in the thing." Vikki thought to himself. "I wonder... I wonder if Katrina is upset because she found out she was adopted? Was she adopted? She claims so in her diary. I just don't understand why she would run away though."
Vikki didn't like seeing the diary entries that she wrote about having a crush on her teacher. "Look at this stupid shit. Katrina really likes to talk about that dumb teacher." Vikki glares at the page. He then cleared his throat.
"Mr. Trevors is so dreamy! He has beautiful hair! And I love his gorgeous blue eyes! I can get lost in them!" Vikki said trying to do Katrina's voice but it wasn't working. He closed the diary.
Leeann woke up in her bedroom. She had a feeling. A bad feeling. "I sense a monster nearby." She thought to herself and got out of bed. "I don't need Bradrick or Brandonlee to help me out either! I will go alone!" Leeann left the house after she puts her shoes on. She didn't care if she was in her nightgown. Her nightgown was just a long cream-colored dress with a white ribbon. She began to run. Run to where she had a strong feeling where a monster was. When she got there, she saw a little girl crying. The monster was about to hurt the little girl.
"Hey! Stop right there!" Leeann yelled. The monster glared at looked at Leeann.
"What do you want you little bitch?" The monster rudely said to Leeann. She closed her eyes and her sword appeared.
"Leave that little girl alone!" Leeann ran in front of the crying little girl. The monster was about to attack Leeann but she stabs it. "You need to stop trying to hurt people!" Leeann had to stab the monster multiple times before it finally turned to dust. Her sword disappears and she turned around to look at the little girl. "Are you alright? Why are you outside without your parents?" Leeann asks.
"This monster attacked my mommy!" The little girl cried. She ran over to a woman that was on the ground. "Mommy! Are you okay?!" The little girl asked. Leeann went over to the woman. She wanted to make sure she was alright. The lady's eyes opened.
"W-What's going on?! Where did that monster go?!" She asked.
"This girl got rid of it!" The little girl tells her mother.
"Don't worry, everything is fine. You two should probably go inside." Leeann tells the mother and daughter. The mother stood up.
"I remember I was watching TV and she was in her bedroom sleeping. I heard something outside and went to check to see what it was and that monster attacked me! Thankfully I am not hurt! But..." The mother looks down at her daughter. "You shouldn't of ran outside! You could've been hurt!" The woman and her daughter went back inside the house. Leeann just stared.
"I wonder how those stupid monsters can attack innocent people?" Leeann thought to herself and was on her way back home. She felt like she didn't sense anymore monsters around. When Leeann got home, she was walking past her brothers' bedroom in the hallway. She was tired and yawned. She heard voices.
"You are so beautiful. Give me that smile. At a girl. You're so fine. I love your plump build. I can just eat you up all day. You melt in my mouth baby girl all day. Yes, you do." Brandonlee said. Leeann stopped walking and felt weird.
"What?" Leeann thought to herself. "Does he have a girl in there?" Leeann started to eavesdrop by the door.
"I think she looks better with some ketchup on her, what do you think?" Bradrick asks Brandonlee.
"Oh, most definitely. You wouldn't mind if we add a little ketchup to you. Do you?" Brandonlee asks. Leeann wondered who they were talking to.
"Could they be talking to that Veronica girl? She's too young! She looks younger than me!" Leeann felt sick just even thinking about it.
"She's so shy. It's adorable. Let me have a bite of you baby." Bradrick said. Leeann couldn't take it anymore.
"They better not be playing with that young girl! I got to stop them!" Leeann thought to herself. She slammed the door wide open. Bradrick had a hamburger in his mouth and was about to take a bite of it but stopped to stare at Leeann. Brandonlee was also holding a hamburger. About to take a bite.
"Alright! Knock it off!" Leeann said. She looked at them both.
"What?" Bradrick asked.
"Can't we enjoy eating our hamburgers in peace?! Geesh! Go to your bedroom and put on some makeup or something!" Brandonlee said. Leeann felt embarrassed.
"I can't believe those two talk like that to hamburgers..." Leeann thought to herself. She didn't even want to ask them where they got them. She was too tired to even care. She left the bedroom. Leeann's mother peaked her head out her doorway.
"Is everything fine?" She asks.
"Yeah, just those morons eating hamburgers." Leeann said and walks to her bedroom to go to sleep.
It was the next morning. Dean was making breakfast downstairs in the kitchen. Paul was getting up and just got out of his bedroom. Right there standing in front of him was Vikki.
"Is something the matter?" Paul asked Vikki.
"Yeah, I got to ask you something."
"What is it?" Paul asks.
"I want to know something about Katrina. And no lying. You got that?"
"What do you want to know about her? And it better not be her three sizes like you asked me last week and Dean."
"No, I am being serious. Was she adopted?" Hearing that made Paul stare down at Vikki. Paul’s mind raced, searching for the right words, but he found nothing. How was he supposed to answer that? He wondered how he would know.
"What do you mean?" Paul asked is all he could say at that moment.
"Cut the crap! I said no lying! Was she adopted?! Well, I already know she might've been! I seen it in her diary! She wrote about it! Finding out and felt weird about it! Is it true?!" Vikki was glaring at Paul now.
"Yes, she was adopted." Paul admits. "I haven't had the right way to tell Dean or Katrina. I am surprised Katrina found out about this. And why are you reading her diary?"
"Don't get me wrong, I wanted to see if it gave any reasons to why she ran off." Vikki started to walk away from Paul. "And I wanted to make sure that she didn't like no guys in school because you know how that pisses me off and I would have to screw it all up for her."
Paul stood frozen, the boy's words echoing in his head. "Katrina knows about being adopted? Did she run away because she found out she was adopted?" Paul wondered. He watched Vikki walk away, his mind spinning. If she had found out the truth, everything changed. Maybe she hadn't just run away—maybe she was running from them.
At school, Dean was sitting at his desk. He wasn't paying any attention to his teacher. "Katrina... Moa said he doesn't know where she's at. I feel so worried I haven't been able to concentrate." Dean thought to himself. Vikki wasn't paying attention to the teacher either.
"Katrina probably ran off because she was adopted. I wonder why the police, or no one hasn't been able to find her yet? Does Dean know that Katrina was adopted? Probably not." Vikki thinks to himself. After class, he was in the restroom. He didn't bother going to his next class. He decided to ditch it. Dean on the other hand, went to the next class.
Delton also skipped class and was in the restroom with Vikki. "You not going to class?" Delton asked.
"Nah, I got too much on my mind." Vikki admits.
"Me too. That pretty girl Alivia is in my next class, and I can't look at her."
"Why not?" Vikki asked.
"Because, I keep staring at her big boobs and it gets me excited. I don't feel comfortable in front of the class." Delton admits and blushes a little. "Her knockers are huge for her age!"
"Oh yeah... I forgot about her... She's Katrina's friend, isn't she? She isn't hurt, is she?"
"I don't think so. Why would she? I just can't concentrate in class. All I want to do is grab her. But I can't talk to her. She will think I am a freak."
"I don't know. She sounds like a freak during her phone calls with Katrina of so I heard from."
"What? You listen to those babes conversation when they have phone calls?" Delton asked surprised.
"I did sometimes not always. Just trying to make sure of some things. Don't worry I don't like Alivia."
"Where has Katrina been anyways? I keep hearing people going around in the school saying she's missing. I heard from a older guy that said he wasn't sure why he was in the middle school that he heard from his brother to his younger sister that Katrina is missing. That she heard it straight from a teacher." Delton explained to Vikki. "Is she missing?"
"Um... Well... Yeah. She ran away from home."
"She did? When did she go missing?" Delton asks curiously.
"Well, it was days ago, but not too long. Why?" Vikki asks.
"Well..." Delton started to think. "I do remember this morning I thought I might have seen her walking outside." Delton admits.
"You did?! Where?!" Vikki grabs Delton by the shoulders in surprise. Delton could tell that Vikki wanted to know about Katrina. It was obvious that Vikki wasn't just curious; he was desperate. Every muscle in Vikki's body seemed to be asking the same thing: Where is Katrina?
"I was leaving my home and saw her come out of another house that was nearby. When I was on my way to school. When she saw me, she ran back into the house."
"I got to go there! After school let me come over, okay?" Vikki wanted to know where Katrina was.
"Alright. Sure." Delton didn't understand much but he agreed to allow Vikki to come over after school.
