~Chapter Six~
At another house, Leeann was sitting on her bed. She took her earrings out of her ears and was putting them in her jewelry box. Moa appeared in her bedroom.
"Again, not knocking?"
"I can't. Leeann, when are you going to finally accept things and go help Vikki and Dean fight the monsters? Join them."
"Again, with all this nonsense? I don't have to help them," Leeann said, glaring at him. She placed her jewelry box in a drawer near her bed.
"You were like this in the past, too. I had a hard time trying to get you to fight alongside the guys. But you started too eventually," Moa tells her.
"I doubt that. Why do I have to fight these monsters anyway?"
"Because you were chosen."
"Chosen? Why me?" She asks him, feeling confused.
"You have incredible power to defeat them. Not every human does. Only the special ones that were chosen to do this." Moa explains to her.
"I still don't follow you. Who chose me? You? You told me about this back in July, but I am still wondering." Leeann asks.
"Sort of. Now, can you at least think of teaming up with Dean and Vikki?"
"I'll think about it." Leeann said and turned her lamp off in her bedroom. She then lay down and was going to sleep.
"I hope she does decide to work with them. I don’t understand how hard it is to team up." Moa whispers and then disappears.
It was a Saturday. Dean was at home doing chores. His dad was at work. Katrina had gone out to the mall with her friends. It was just Dean all alone at home into Moa appeared in the living room where he was sweeping.
"What are you doing?" Moa asked.
"Housework. This Saturday is my day. Next week is Katrina's." Dean tells Moa. "It's chores we do. I need to clean the house."
"That seems like a woman's job."
"Don't be silly. Are there any monsters I need to slay?" Dean asked.
"Not right now." Moa tells him and sits on the sofa. "This feels nice. What is this?"
"A sofa. It's something soft to sit on." Dean explains. "It is soft. I saw these a few times but never knew what they were." Moa liked sitting on it.
Vikki was home sitting on his bed in his bedroom. "I miss my mom. Katrina is kind of mother-like." Vikki was staring at a photo on his bed. It was a photo of his mother. "My mom was always kind. She scolded me, though when I was bad, but she never hurt me. Dad was an asshole though..." Vikki began to remember the past.
Vikki was only six years old and was in his bedroom. He heard screaming in the middle of the night. His dad was drunk again. Vikki quietly left his bedroom to go downstairs. He poked his head into the kitchen.
"I AM SICK OF MY JOB! AND I AM SICK OF YOU!" The man yelled and pushed his wife to the fridge. Vikki was scared but worried about his mom.
"Mommy!" He ran over to her.
"Vikki, get out of here." Vikki's mother didn't want him to get hurt. He looked at his dad.
"Don't hurt mommy! Daddy, stop being a meanie!"
Vikki yelled at his dad, and he picked him up by his shirt.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU LITTLE BASTARD?!" The dad was angry with Vikki.
"Please! Don't hurt him!" The mom starts to cry. Vikki stops thinking about what happened in the past and sets his mom's photo on the end table near his bed.
"Mom always tried to protect me from Dad. When I became friends with Dean, and she became friends with Dean's mother, she kept sending me over there. So, I wouldn't get hit by Dad. Or when dad was away, she still sent me over there. I don't think she wanted me home, seeing her cry so much. I know Dean's parents saw the bruises on my mom and me. But... I don't know if they tried to speak to my mother about it or not. Not to mention how loud it got. I know they must have heard some of those nights."
Vikki got up and went to the kitchen. Opened the fridge. It was practically empty. "I'm hungry.
Maybe I'll go over Dean's place to eat something." Vikki shut the fridge and then went next door.
Katrina was at the mall with her friends. Alivia, Leeann, and Jill were with her. They were sitting down eating pizza.
"That Vikki boy hangs out over your house a lot. How is he friends with Dean anyway? Dean is sweet compared to Vikki." Leeann asks Katrina.
"I know. I don't know how the two are best friends. Dean is an angel compared to that stupid Vikki." Katrina agrees with Leeann.
"One time, that boy called me 'ugly', and I know I am not ugly. Who's ugly is my two older brothers." Leeann says.
"We all didn't just come here to talk about Vikki, did we?" Jill asked. Katrina shook her head.
"No. Let's go shopping." Katrina got up, took her garbage to the garbage can, and threw it away. Her friends did the same and followed her into a store.
Vikki was sitting on the sofa with Moa as Dean was cleaning. "Why are you doing all the cleaning?" Vikki asked Dean.
"Because. It's my week to do it." Dean answers.
"I find it absurd that he's doing that when it's really a woman's job." Moa said.
"Don't be ridiculous. Can you tell me more? More about our past?" Dean asks Moa.
"Well… it was chaos in the past when the Sea God was coming. A lot of war. No one felt safe. Everyone was practically living in the castle. You all used to go out looking for survivors." Moa tells Dean. "You were a brave warrior, Dean. You believed in yourself and your team. You felt confident that you all were going to destroy the Sea God. But it was becoming difficult. The Sea God had lots of followers and was harming your allies. Some ended up dying in battle. Some died from illness. And some was completely idiots getting pregnant at a difficult time!"
"I guess they thought sex was the only thing to relieve stress, and then it ended up with pregnancies. I mean I don’t think condoms were invited back then." Vikki laughed. Dean just stared, confused, along with Moa.
“A condom? What is that word?” Moa asked. Vikki didn’t pay attention to what Moa asked.
"What's sex?" Dean asks. Moa stared at Vikki. Confused on why Dean didn't know what sex actually was.
"Is he serious?" Moa asked Vikki.
"Dean doesn't know about dirty things like that. He's innocent." Vikki whispers to Moa.
"Ahh, I see. No wonder he wasn't fooling around during the war with the Sea God in the past."
"I was smart not to fool around, too, I bet. I probably knew the battle was more important." Vikki said a fool of himself.
"Not really." Moa responds. "You were one of those idiots who were fooling around. In fact, you and your wife were expecting a child in the past." Moa responds to Vikki.
"What?! For real?! Congratulations!" Dean shakes Vikki's hand. Vikki stares confused.
"Dude, he said in the past. I am not having a child right now. Heck, I’m not married." Vikki said to Dean.
"Where do babies come from anyway?" Dean asks, and let's go of Vikki's hand. "I heard that a man and a woman have a baby together.
"Is he for real?" Moa whispers to Vikki.
"I told you he was innocent." Vikki whispers back.
"Why doesn't no one tell me where babies come from? Even Daddy doesn't. He tells me that I am just a kid, I don't need to know all that. All I need to know is how to do schoolwork."
"To have a baby, a man and woman have to have sex." Vikki explains to Dean.
"Again, with that word. What's that? The gender of someone?" Dean asks innocently.
"No sex is something I had. I should know. I had sex with 20 girls already. I'm not a virgin." Vikki lies.
"You did? So, you're going to have 20 babies?" Dean asks. Vikki glares at him.
"NO!" Vikki yelled at Dean.
"But you said that if a man and woman do that, that's where babies come from. I don't understand." Dean didn't understand what his friend was talking about or meant.
"Don't explain it to him. He's too young anyway." Moa tells Vikki.
"Can you tell me more about the past?" Dean asked. "Nope." Moa disappears.
"Hey!" Dean wanted to hear more of the past. He wanted to know more about his past self.
