~Chapter Sixteen ~
Katrina was sitting up on her bed. "Maybe I should ask Dean for some advice, but... I don't want him to think I am weird. I keep overthinking things. I was NOT adopted!" Katrina got out of bed and went into her brother's bedroom. "Where's Dean and Vikki?" Katrina didn't see any of them. They were nowhere to be seen.
Katrina went looking around the house but did not see anyone. Not even her dad. "Where is everybody? Why did they leave me home alone? It's 12 AM!" Katrina started to freak out a little, but then she heard a knock at the door. "Maybe Dean or Vikki got locked out! Yeah! And now they're trying to get back in! They are so busted!" Katrina went to answer the door. When she answered it, she was surprised to not even see Dean or Vikki. It wasn't even her father at the door. It was her teacher. Mr. Trevors.
"M-Mr. Trevors?" Katrina wasn't sure why he was standing at the door. "What are you doing here?"
"We need to talk. We need to talk about your past." Mr. Trevors said to her.
"How would you know anything about me?! I don't really know you! You're just my teacher and you help tutor me in Algebra! I don't believe you know anything about me!" Katrina was about to shut the door.
"Bertha." He said stopping her from shutting the door. Katrina was surprised to hear that.
"I...I don't know a Bertha!"
"You know deep inside who Bertha really is." Katrina stares at Mr. Trevors.
Dean and Vikki had fallen down from being knocked down by Randel. He was laughing at them.
"Why don't you just use that wind power on him?!" Vikki asked Dean.
"I feel like I can't!" Dean answered.
"We need to do something to get rid of this ugly thing!" Jill said and wacked Randel with her whip. She tied his arm up with her whip and yanked on it. Bradrick jumped up and uses his sword to cut down. Cutting Randel's arm off.
"YOU THINK IF I AM MISSING ONE ARM WILL CAUSE ME TO BE LOSING! THINK AGAIN!" A big laser shot out of his body where the arm once was. Attacking Bradrick and Jill. Everyone was already hurt.
"This is pointless! Why are you trying to make us fight this!" Leeann glares at Moa. You won't even help!" Moa didn't say anything.
"Look at you! You got a missing arm!" Brandonlee laughed at the monster.
"Right now, isn't the time to be making fun of the monster! Attack it!" Leeann snaps at her older brother. Vikki got up and charged at the monster. When the monster was about to attack Vikki, he quickly jumped up. Shoving his sword in Randel's head. He then pulls it out and jumps down. There was blood everywhere.
Dean took a deep breath. "I can do this!" Dean stood up. "I did it to the other monster. I can do it to this one!" Dean opened his eyes again. Held out his sword. He felt some power was being apart of him and at that moment he unleashed it. "WIND THRASH!" Dean yelled. The wind went around the sword and then right at Randel.
"EUGH!" Randel yells and fell backward.
"Did we get him?" Leeann asks.
"No." Vikki saw Randel still there. Randel got up slowly.
"You all think you can defeat me?! You can't!" Randel yells. Randel uses his laser power again. Shoots from where his missing arm was. He shoots them all. They all fell to the ground. Hurt. Wounded.
"We can't do this!" Jill says feeling like giving up.
"He's too tough!" Brandonlee felt tired.
"Please! Don't give up!" Moa said.
"TIME TO FINISH YOU ALL!" Randel was about to shoot another laser at them. Moa quickly flew and grabs them all. Moving them aside as he telported there with them. Randel misses and shots the ground instead.
"I think I can do this!" Dean says as Moa lets them all go. Dean walks slowly over to the monster.
"You can't do anything! You're weak!" Randel said and laughed. "You're a piece of shit, ha the legendary warrior my ass". Dean was trying to use his last bit of strength left.
"WIND THRASH!" He yelled. Wind came out of his sword and hits Randel again. Randel fell to the ground. Dean fell backwards and to the ground. Everyone went over to him.
"Are you okay?!" Moa asks Dean. Dean had fell unconscious and his sword disappeared.
Katrina was just standing there. Looking down. "Don't you get it, Katrina dear? Your real father is really Harold. Your uncle Harold. Your real father was an insane man. He was married to his wife Victoria, but had you with someone else. He had you with his wife's friend. The woman was also Paul's wife's friend. Your real mother's name was 'Mary'. She was only 18 when she was pregnant with you. She was just trying to get her life together after losing her family. Your father lusted after her. Cheated on his wife by raping your mother. Your mother got pregnant with you."
"You're lying! If she was raped, why didn't she abort me?!" Katrina asks with tears in her eyes.
"I don't know. She was living with Paul and his wife after that. They were concerned about Mary. She was young after all. Mary was like Diane's little sister to her. Diane is Paul's wife, I am sure you know. After Mary gave birth to you, she died a month later."
"W-What?" Katrina looked down and was upset.
"She died from unknown causes. Her original name for you was Bertha Acres. You had your mother's last name. But after your mother passed, Paul and his wife decided to rename you after their deceased daughter. Don't you get it? They only seen you as a replacement for their dead daughter."
"NO! You're lying!" Katrina didn't want to believe it.
"If that was so, did you find your real birth certificate. The one before your adoptive parents changed."
"I..." Katrina did. She did see the original birth certificate that was hers. She also saw the other one. There were two birth certificates with the name 'Katrina Moore' on them. One was with a girl born in August, and the other was hers. Born in November. Katrina felt sad.
"Now dear, I don't see you as a replacement for anyone. But don't you think it's cruel that your mother still had you and you have to grow up knowing your father raped your mother, that you were an accident child?" Mr. Trevors touches Katrina's face. "I can take you from here, treat you better. Take care of you."
"W-Why would you do that?" Katrina asks looking up at him.
"Because unlike them I care for you. I am the only one that cares for you."
"Wait! What about Dean?!" Katrina moves Mr. Trevor's hand off her face.
"Dean? Dean really is Paul's child. Paul and his wife Diane thought they couldn't have children and that their miracle baby Katrina died. But then they had another miracle baby. Dean really is the child of your adoptive parents. In fact, your brother is really your cousin."
"But Dean cares for me! He doesn't see me as a replacement or anything!" Katrina wanted to prove Mr. Trevors wrong.
"No." Mr. Trevors pulls Katrina close to him. "No dear. He doesn't really care for you. He thinks of you as a nescience. In fact, he only pretends to like you. You're nothing to him."
"That's not true!" Katrina was crying.
"It's very true, have I lied to you so far?" Karina shook her head, 'no'. Mr. Trevors bends down. His face was close to Katrina's.
"I can take you from here. I care for you." Mr. Trevors presses his lips against Katrina's.
Panic was a live wire in the air as they crowded around. Vikki didn’t hesitate; he shoved through the others and grabbed the front of Dean’s shirt, his knuckles white. "Don’t you dare do this, Dean. Wake up!" He shook him once, hard. A low groan finally vibrated in Dean’s chest, and his eyes cracked open, dull and disoriented, meeting his friend's frantic gaze.
"H-Huh?" He was confused.
"Are you alright?!" Moa asks Dean. He nods slowly.
"YOU FOOLS! YOU FOOLS!" Randel screamed. His voice sounded deep and scary, like a monster's growl.
He pushed himself up, his huge gray body casting a long shadow over the group. His hooves scraped the dirt and his giant tail thrashed in the grass. He stared at them with angry eyes, breathing hard.
"He's still alive?!" Dean asks surprised.
"No," Moa said.
Randel stopped moving. His big, gray monster body started to soften and melt like a candle. He slumped down into the tall grass, and his skin turned into a pile of gray dust. A light wind blew across the field, picking up the ashes and carrying them away until he was gone.
"What just happened? Is he really a human or monster?" Leeann asks Moa.
"You all are hurt. I wish I could help but... We don't exactly have the person that can heal yet. " Moa said. They all were staring at Moa.
"Was he a monster or a human?" Jill asks Moa.
"Oh, yeah. Well... about that, he really is a demon, Not a human! He was one of The Sea God's powerful creatures. There will be more on this journey. Are you all up for it?"
"I think we are! We did a good job!" Dean said with a smile. Behind them, Jenny watched silently from the shadows of a large tree, keeping her distance.
"Randel was such a fool." She mumbles and laughed. She then disappeared.
