~Chapter Nine~
Dean's dad, Paul, came into the bathroom. "It's not serious!" Dean lies with tears in his eyes.
Dean, I can see a lot of blood coming out of your shoulder. I am taking you to the hospital. Now get in my car." Paul tells his son. Dean didn't fight. He left in the car with his dad. Katrina was worried but stayed home.
"I wonder why he was bleeding like that?" Katrina thought to herself. "I hope he'll be alright." Katrina sat down on her bed. "I wonder who my real family is... I heard dad saying something that I wasn't his real daughter... and that he couldn't have children. That must mean that Dean isn't his child either. Maybe we are both siblings, but he adopted us. From whom?"
Vikki started putting his favorite things in bags in his bedroom. "I might as well do this, I probably won't be here long. My dad only has a little money on his credit card. Besides that, the card is going to expire pretty soon. Dammit." Vikki picked up a photo of his mother. Vikki looked a lot like his mother. The same hair color, eye color, and even facial appearance. "Mom... Why don't you want me to fight? Is it because you don't want me hurt?"
Moa appeared by Vikki. "What is it? I don't want to fight. I quit."
"What?! You can't quit! Besides, because you were not helping Dean, he was injured today!"
"Injured?" Vikki couldn't believe it. "See? Why are you making us fight? We can get killed. Why don't you take care of it yourself? You let Dean get hurt. That's why I quit, and I hope Dean does too." Vikki said as he put more of his things in a bag.
"You can't mean that, can you? You can't quit. This is your destiny. That's the whole reason why you were reborn for. To complete the task, you couldn't have completed it in your past life. Don't you get it?"
"Screw it! I don't want to do it! I said I don't! I don't give a damn about a Sea God! I don't give a fuck about you! And I sure in the hell don't want to risk my life just to defeat some damn Sea God! Now get the hell out of here!" Vikki yelled at Moa.
"Vikki..." Moa couldn't believe what he heard.
"My mom doesn't want me to fight anymore." Vikki mumbles. Moa heard him.
"Vikki, you weren't supposed to tell your family about this, no wait..." Moa looked at Vikki. "Your mother isn't around anymore, nor is your father. They haven't been around for years, have they? When are you going to tell everyone? When are you going to come clean? One day, someone is going to find out and start as-"
"SHUT UP!" Vikki snaps. "Just leave me alone and get out!" Moa disappears.
It wasn't much time later when Dean came home from the hospital. He had to have stitches. He wasn't happy for what had happened. He was sitting on his bed in his bedroom when Moa appeared.
"Maybe Vikki is right, him quitting this."
"No, Dean. Not you too." Moa says not wanting Dean or Vikki to give up.
"I got hurt, I could've died. I don't think I should do this anymore." Dean says, looking down at the floor.
"Please reconsider. Once there's is more that recognize their past, it will get a lot easier."
"What if they don't? Huh? What if it's just me and no one else helps, and I die?" Moa wasn't sure how to respond. He didn't want to fight with Dean.
"Well, there is Leeann. She will eventually help and join no matter what. She knows what she needs to do. She's been doing this before you and Vikki, and she never gave up. She was on her own and still tries to be." Dean stared at Moa.
"Are you serious? Oh, wait, I think I remember you mentioning her name. " Dean asks.
"Yes, in fact, I... I really was helping her before you and Vikki."
"But I said the incantation. The weapons disa-" Dean stopped talking and started to remember. "Back in the summer, I remember they claimed a sword disappeared from that museum. Then, when Vikki and I got there, more than one of them disappeared. Is that when Leeann went there? She went there in the summer?" Dean asks him. Moa nods.
"You helped unseal the other weapons and memories so the others can have their weapons and remember their past lives. It's just a matter of time. I tried talking to her. She does her job, but she really doesn't want any help. She has an ability to sense monsters, so I don't actually have to tell her where some are at times. But... She never gave up. She's still staying strong even though she can be lazy, rude, and annoying."
"That's because Leeann is so tough and pretty!" Dean smiled. "She is like that in school. She loves beauty items, but in gym class she gets the job done. She will run and is even good at her mile run. Better than me!"
"You like her? Got a crush?" Moa asked. Dean shook his head.
"Nope. I guess I will continue to do it... maybe. I hope Vikki will think about it and start helping me again. I also hope Leeann helps too." Dean said with a smile. "But first I need to heal, so give me time before I fight again."
"Understood."
It was the next day. Dean had gone to school along with Katrina and Vikki. While at school, Dean was sitting at his desk. He had to work on a test in Mrs Layden’s class about medieval history. "I feel like I can't think straight. I might've lost too much blood yesterday..." Dean thought to himself. He did feel tired.
His shoulder was throbbing even with the aspirin medicine he’s been taking to ease the pain. Dean has been trying his best to ignore it, though it was hard to. He wasn't sure why his dad didn't let him take a day off from school to rest.
Vikki glanced at Dean and noticed him looking tired.
"Is he feeling sleepy too? I feel weak myself lately.
But... after I dreamed of my parents. I am starting to feel better. I want to find that bastard who murdered my parents and get my revenge! But..." Vikki looked at his test. "I still haven't found my parents in my house. Their bodies disappeared, and I don't know where they are. Where could they have gone?" Vikki fiddled with his pencil in his right hand as he stared at his test still. "I am guessing the first one is probably B." Vikki started marking his answer.
The whole day was draggy and seemed kind of slow. Dean felt like he couldn’t focus or think straight. When school ended, He went straight to his bedroom and went to bed.
It was now evening, a few hours passed since school had ended. Vikki was worried about his friend and decided to go next door. "Ew, it's here." Katrina glared at Vikki when she saw him in the hallway.
"Hey, big tits." Vikki winks at her. She blushes. "EW! You pervert!" Katrina walks off.
"I wish I could grab those melons." Vikki mumbled and went to Dean's bedroom. He found him sleeping on his bed. Vikki went over to him and shook him. Dean woke up.
"H-Hey." Dean sat up and rubbed his eyes. "What is it?"
"Why are you so tired? Stayed up all night? But I thought you told me you don’t do stuff like that?" Vikki asks.
"No. I... I was fighting recently, and I got hurt. A monster bit me. I got stitches, so I should be fine." Dean tells Vikki.
“See, this is what I am talking about. You must stop slaying monsters.” Vikki tells him.
Dean didn’t say anything. He stared at his friend. He never seen him so serious before. Well, I'm serious about him. Dean can tell Vikki was cautious about what was going on. Even though he can be rude at times or say things Dean never understands.
“Dean, I care about you, and I am telling you, please stop this.” Vikki says to him.
Dean didn’t want to upset his friend, he wanted to continue what he was doing and fight to defend the Earth. Dean had a strong desire for it all.
"I know. But I can't. I can’t give up. Leeann is tough and doesn't really need help. She never gave up. I don't want to either. I believe, I believe that some more will come and help." Dean said to Vikki. "Why don't you want to continue fighting?"
Vikki stopped and thought of what his mother had told him a few nights ago. He told Dean. "My mother doesn't want me to." Vikki answered.
"Wait, you told your mom? We weren't supposed to tell!"
"I didn't tell." Vikki looked down. He didn't want to tell Dean that his mother was dead. He couldn't even say it through words about her.
"I know fighting might be at risk for us, but if we don't do something that Sea God will destroy the Earth. Will be born or has, and then were all going to be in trouble. I think it's a good idea to stop this problem and fight. It's for a good cause, even helping those out there in the world who just want to live peacefully. There's already too much crime in the world anyway."
"I really want to fight with you, Dean. But... my mother doesn't want me to. So, I can't..." Vikki thought to himself. He didn't want to go against his mother's wishes. If she didn't want him to fight, then he shouldn't fight. Moa appeared.
"I sense some monsters. They're about to attack. Do you want to fight Vikki?" Moa asked.
"No." Vikki responds. Moa disappeared. Moa appears by Leeann. There were two monsters by her and Jill. One monster clawed Jill.
"I can't believe there's monsters!" Jill said, feeling frightened. Moa stared at her.
"She might be another..." Moa thought. Leeann glares at the monsters. She felt unsure what to do.
"Should I get my sword out in front of Jill? I don't want her to ask me questions, but I don't want to let her get hurt or me. What should I do?" Leann wondered and panicked at the same time.
